IVAW and GOE

I want to know why Gathering of Eagles thinks they have the right to behave in whatever way they see fit and talk to people teh way that they do. The ignorance of these people is amazing. It makes me want to cry more then laugh. I just don't know what to make of it all. So what I want to know is what ya'll think is appropriate in terms of dealing with opposition groups like GOE and Eagles Up etc. My personal policy is ignore the idiots and if they attack me to use appropiate force in defending myself. But I'd like some other opinions...

I am veteran of the U.S. military (E-4 Army 67-69 and am opposed to the war this government is waging against Iraq.
I was not asked to go to Vietnam but, if I had been, I would have refused to go. Sadly, I live in Florida and this is a pro war state.

I agree. These people threatened to bring guns to the Tacoma Mall Protest to intimidate protesters. Nationalism is an ugly ideology.
I believe that patriotism is about ensuring your country is something to be proud of. It has nothing to do with hurting people who don't toe the line.
True patriots work to guarantee that their country is an example for the rest of the world. The United States is a country that has the potential to lead the world into an era of peace and equality. At present, it is not. It is the duty of all patriots to change that.
We need to be vigilant against the threat of violence from the nationalist elements that would use violence to bring about their vision of what the world should be. We have seen the terror that white supremacists imposed on the South from the times of Reconstruction on in to the 1970's.
We can also look to the history of Germany their nationalists. Hitler was an elected official and the Brown Shirts were his nationalist minions. They used violence to instill fear and compliance in the population. That same fanatical mentality is apparent in our flag waving friends.
These people can be very dangerous. They have beaten protesters in the past and spat on veterans. We cannot ignore the real threat that these people pose to us and our country.
